God's Choice

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Psalm 84:11

My digital camera was a huge investment. I really liked it. Then, at my graduation it quit working. I did everything I could think of to get it working. I called a repair shop but it was going to cost more to get it repaired than it cost.

I had a long hard talk with the Lord. I came to the conclusion that if the Lord chose to take the camera then that was the best thing. I was able to get to the point of telling the Lord that I chose what He chose. Then I tried the camera again and it has worked ever since.

Something similar happened with my turtle Yerdle. I found him right after he hatched. He still had his egg tooth. A few days after I found him, he disappeared from the tank. I looked everywhere, several times. I even checked the trash can to be sure he didn't fall into it.  Finally after he had been missing for about three days I had anther heart to heart with the Lord and told Him how much I liked little Yerdle but I chose what He chose. Later that day I was sitting at my desk and thought I heard something coming from the trash can. I checked again but no turtle. Then I looked under the trash bag and there he was, a bit dehydrated but he recovered just fine. I've had him for about three years now.

I think it has to do with the weapon of praise, choosing to trust what the Lord chooses no matter what it looks like right now.
